Like other Balkan countries, Albania suffers from high unemployment rates and low wages due to a long period of communist rule that left behind many economic, social, and cultural challenges. To alleviate poverty and the hardships faced by needy families in Albania, the International Association for Humanitarian Friendship, in collaboration with its partners in Albania, continuously distributes food baskets to families in need.
